# About SFXForge AI

SFXForge AI is an AI sound effect generator for game developers. You describe a sound in plain words, such as "sci-fi airlock door, pressurized hiss" or "campfire crackle, seamless loop", and get back a royalty-free audio clip a few seconds later. It's built for the moment in game development when you know exactly which sound a scene needs, but no sound pack has it.

## What it does

- **Generates sound effects from text.** One-shots for impacts, UI, pickups and footsteps, and seamless loops for engines, ambience and fire, from 1 to 60 seconds long.
- **Works where you build your game.** A dockable window inside the Unity editor saves clips straight into your project. A web version covers Godot, Unreal, GameMaker and any other tool. AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex generate sounds through our [MCP server and REST API](https://sfxforgeai.com/developers/).
- **Keeps your sounds organized.** Every sound you generate stays in your library, with folders, search and previews, in Unity and on the web.
- **Charges only for what you generate.** There's no subscription. You buy a credit pack once and spend 10 credits per second of audio. New accounts get 30 free seconds to try it.

## Licensing

Every generated sound comes with a royalty-free commercial license, so you can ship it in a commercial game without attribution. The details are in our [Terms of Service](https://sfxforgeai.com/terms/). Sounds are generated with Stable Audio 3 from Stability AI, under the [Stability AI Community License](https://sfxforgeai.com/licenses/stability-ai/), on GPU infrastructure run for us by an infrastructure provider. Your prompts are not sent to the company that made the model.
